A little boy named Preston Fisher has beaten the odds, outliving the expectations of his doctors by several years, and inspiring the construction of Preston’s H. O. P. E.
It’s a playground, designed to accommodate able-bodied and disabled children alike. Preston’s mom Jackie Fisher and her friend, Stacy Halpern, will help dedicate Preston’s hope today, before its official opening to the public tomorrow.

Intrepid Cleveland legend Neil Zurcher has revisited dozens of Ohio destinations, those which were once exposed as “One Tank Trips,” in his new book, “Ohio Road Trips.” 52 destinations are featured in the new book. Neil will sign copies at Borders in the Promenade in Westlake on Thursday, September 7th.

The PBS series “Wide Angle” debuts on Tuesday night, September 5th, with a documentary called “Back to School.” In it, producer Pam Hogan follows seven children, many of whom are from impoverished countries, three years after they entered school, to track their progress, or lack of progress.www.pbs.org/wideangle
