A little girl from Avon Lake is struggling with a brain tumor. Her parents have established a foundation, for their daughter Maria, and for other children who suffer with gliomas. Kevin Vignale is a spokesman for the “Prayers From Maria” foundation, which is holding a fundraiser in July.

Nancy Sheehan is a Pulitzer Prize winning author who was in Cleveland this week for the Community Care Network. “Play Until Dark at Wendy Park” is an event scheduled for June 30th. Christine Bucknell is Executive Director of the Wendy Park Foundation. Wendy Park is on Whiskey Island, along Cleveland’s lakefront, and the foundation is trying to raise funds to connect the Park to the Towpath Trail.

A baseball clinic will be held on Saturday, June 16, as part of the Great Lakes Science Center's exhibition "Baseball as America." President Linda Abraham-Silver describes the exhibit.
