The Aids Task Force of Greater Cleveland is one of the many beneficiaries of the annual Dr. John T. Carey Memorial Aids Walk. This year’s event takes place October 6. Earl Pike is Executive Director of the Aids Task Force.

Parents Without Partners is a national organization celebrating its 50th anniversary. A local chapter is celebrating with a dance on Saturday, October 6th. Greg Schwert is the founder of the West Cuyahoga/Lorain chapter.

The Cleveland Institute of Music is being renovated, and “A Fanfare for a New Era” will celebrate the completion of the multi-million dollar project on November 11th. Susan Schwartz details the renovations, and promotes the “Fanfare” event.

Step Out to Fight Diabetes is the name of a walk being held in 200 cities across the country, including in Hudson today (Sunday, September 30, 2007) and next Saturday, October 6th in Cleveland. Jack Gustin, President of Lakewood Hospital, is the chairman of the Cleveland walk.

Dr. Johannes Haile-Selassie helped lead a research team from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History earlier this year. The team discovered fossils from an era that had previously been largely missing from the fossil record.
